A random act of kindnes

Sun. i stopped to get gas (at $194.) and when i pulled in i felt somthing on the tire , so pulled in to a parking space to look . Picked up a big piece of metal and the tire was leaking air. So started to get the spare out which started to be a real problem as i'am 74 and not use to doing that much labor. Was on my back trying to get the spare from under the bed of the truck, i was in a mull of a hess. I young man asked if he could help me, oh yes! thank you!. As everyone knows except me that Fords have a crank under the hood which is used to lower the spare. He very softly said i think there is a crank under the hood that we can use. In no time he had the tire off and the spare on. I wanted to reward him but he said no just glad to help. I am so glad we have people like him. I hope God will bless him and i vow to do some random acts of kindness this week.

RE: 3M fine cut compound???

I used a can of kyrlon clear spray and it worked out very nice. Best to mask it to keep the over spray off the rest of the finish.

RE: Chainsaw won't cut straight

I had that problem my cure Point your finger up now bend it to the left So The first knuckle is the part you need to sharpen. it"s easy to miss that, mostly we sharpen the curved side of the chain which makes it cut to the right or left. There are names for the top and curved sides but i didnt look them up.

RE: I'm gonna plant me some Chestnut trees..

You know they get realy big! I was up on the blueridge parkway at MT. pisgah EL 2300 feet and right out in fromt of the restrant someone was taking cuttings from one that had been infected by the virus but was still comming up from suckers. the suckers were only abot 7 feet high and when they get bigger the virus kills the big suckers but it will send up more. They were also trying to root the stems by putting moss on a bud then tying a bag around it and sometimes the bud will root. I also would like to plant some but i want to get one that has been moddified to resist the virus. So for now i'm going to plant some walnuts and pecans this fall.

RE: Two blow outs on 5er on one trip

IT is the rating of your tires, put on E range or more if you can. on the side of the tire it will tell the range. B C D E ect. As said all Mfg put on the lowest range they because they are cheaper.

RE: Seeking Cooler Weather

I vote for MT Pisgah 15 miles south of ashville NC EL. 2300 ft and cool . the blue berries should be ripe for picking all along the trails ( the bears like the berries also) Bring your fly rod to catch some brook trout. The camp ground is next to the Lodge where you can a meal and look out the windows at the blue ridge Mt,s It is on the parkway but no hook up's
